Effects of Massage:

Effects of massage refer to the changes that occur in the body, mind, and emotions of the recipient during a massage session. They are the outcomes of a session, e.g. muscle relaxation, increased alertness or reduced anxiety. Massage therapists keep these effects in mind as they apply soft tissue techniques to accomplish therapeutic goals.

Massage has some long-lasting effects on some specific injuries or pathological conditions. These effects include reducing scar tissue formation, decreasing edema, loosening lung phlegm, and relieving constipation. Chronic conditions often require ongoing massage treatments.

Massage therapy and the response it brings about in the body can affect systems of the body, namely, cardiovascular system, lymphatic and immune systems, muscles, connective tissue, respiratory system, digestive system and urinary system.
